NATURE COAST

Recreation
The Nature Coast Tract is two sections, the north section on the south side of the Nature Coast State Trail and the Suwannee River. The south section is in Fanning Springs on Canal Street. On the Canal Street section visitors may enjoy hunting, biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. This section offers hunting as part of the of the Log Landing Wildlife Management Area.

Access
Nature Coast Tract from Fanning Springs:
Travel north on Florida Street, turn left on Canal Avenue, follow Canal Avenue and after the road curves left the tract will be on the right.

MUD SWAMP

Recreation
On the Mud Swamp Tract, visitors may enjoy biking, hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing.

Access
Mud Swamp Tract from Alachua:
Travel northeast on SR 235, turn left on CR 231, turn right on NW 218th Avenue; travel 2.5 miles; at the 90° turn, the tract is on the left.

Mud Swamp Tract from Brooker:
Travel east on CR 18, turn right on CR 231; travel 2.75 miles and the tract is on the right.

MOSSY HAMMOCK

Recreation
Visitors may enjoy fishing, biking, hiking and wildlife viewing.

The Econfina River traverses the tract from the north boundary to the southern boundary.  The river’s 239-square mile basin drains part of the Big Bend Region.  Its headwaters in San Pedro Bay, the Econfina River’s character changes dramatically as it winds 44-miles through upland forests and meanders downstream to the palm-fringed salt marshes of the Gulf of Mexico.

The name “Econfina” derives from the Creek ekana, which means “earthy”, and feno, which means “bridge” or “foot log”. This name may refer to a natural bridge over the river in the Natural Well Branch Tract.

Access
Mossy Hammock Tract from Perry:
Travel west approximately 20 miles on US 98, turn left on CR 14, travel 5 miles to Loughridge Grade turn left cross the Econfina River, travel west 1/4 mile and the tract is on the right and left sides of the road.

LINVILLE

Recreation
The Linville Tract has marked equestrian trails that connect with the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. There are no parking facilities to accommodate horse trailers. Visitors may also enjoy fishing, as well as biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Linville tract:
Travel north on US 129, turn right on 40th Street; travel east .5 mile. The entrance is on the left.

Levings tract from White Springs:
Travel north on CR 135, turn right on CR 6. Cross the Suwannee River; the Levings tract parking lot is .5 miles on the left.

JERRY BRANCH

The Jerry Branch Tract visitors may enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing.

Access
Jerry Branch tract from White Springs:
Travel north on US 41 to CR 25A, turn left; travel northwest on CR 25A, crossing I-75. Immediately after crossing I-75, turn left on SE 134th Avenue; travel south .25 mile and the first access is on the left. Continue south on SE 134th Avenue and there are two additional access points.

Travel north on CR 349 12.5 miles to CR 353 turn right and travel 1.75 miles to the third 90 degree turn and the tract and parking area are on the right.

Travel west on US 27 to CR349; turn left travel 12 miles to CR 353 turn left travel east 2 miles and tract is on the right.

FOX TRAIL

Recreation
The Fox Trail tract has marked trails, which are primarily used for horseback riding. This tract is connected to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park equestrian trails.

Visitors may also enjoy biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing on administrative roads.

Access
Fox Trail Tract from Live Oak:
Travel north on US 129 to CR 132, turn left; travel approximately 1.5 miles, turn right. The road dead ends at the Fox Trail Tract at the first entrance. Travel north on US 129 to CR 132, turn left; travel west on CR 132 approximately 5 miles, turn right on CR 795; travel north 1 mile, turn right on 24th Street. Travel on 24th Street 1.5 miles to 107th Road, turn left and follow the road to the Deese-Howard Ramp Park, the second entrance. Access to the Fox Trail tract is on the east and west sides of the park. Visitors can park in the boat ramp parking lot.
