PEACOCK SLOUGH RIVER CAMP

The Peacock Slough River Camp is a part of the Peacock Slough Tract and is located at the confluence of the spring run and the Suwannee River. The river camp is the fourth river camp between White Springs and Branford and provides 5 sleeping platforms, a picnic pavilion, restrooms with hot showers, and a tent-camping area.

Travel south on CR 249 approximately 11 miles to SW 64th Terrace, turn left into Holton Creek.

Holton Creek tract from Live Oak:
Travel north on CR 249 crossing the Suwannee River and the road becomes CR 751; travel .25 miles, turn right on CR 249; travel one mile, turn right on SW 64th Terrace into Holton Creek.

Camping Area
The camping area is primitive with no facilities except portable sanitation units. Campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis by self-issued special use authorization, which is available at the kiosk. Campers are limited to a 10-day stay. Camping is not allowed during general gun season from mid-September to the end of January. There are two group camping sections. Group Campsite A is just past the entrance before the fence, Group Campsite B is the second section with the picnic pavilion.
